I applaud your xmas message, because the division amongst Hatians is the main reason why Haiti is in the state that it is in at the present moment.
I came to the States as a child, and have heard first hand my Aunts, and their friends bashing other haitians b/c they are from a different area than we were. I have also heard too many Haitians, complaining about the hardships of living in the US, only to turn around and say that they will never go back to Haiti.
I think that my parents generation has done a really poor job in teaching My generation about Haitian unity and Pride.
I have come into contact with many people from Africa and the unity thety have amongst themselves is something to be envied at times.
They go back and contribute to their homelands, they teach their children ( both the ones that were born in the US, or their home country), about their ancestors, and their cultures.
Some Haitians come to this country, have children, and don't allow them to learn Creole, or about our history.
They pass the shame they have for their country unto their children.
