The U.S. Postal Service is ending the letters to Santa program but your kids can still send letters to Santa.
The Letters to Santa program is a popular national program begun in 1954 in the small Alaska town of North Pole.
In North Pole Alaska, volunteers (Santas elves and helpers) open and respond to thousands of letters addressed to Santa each year.
Then you send a letter to Santa at north pole, the replies would come with North Pole postmarks.
So if you want a reply from santa at the north pole, you may have to address your letter to "City Hall, North Pole Alaska" according to the Mayor of North Pole Alaska.
Otherwise, the majority of the letters instead will be routed to the Postal Services' nationwide Operation Santa program.
